This project is a Concept Art series which I plan to continue post Graduation! Pirates in the Backyard is a series that explores the theme of seeing the world once more through the eyes of a child as they play and use their imagination. Each piece is in pairs of two, centered around a certain concept or "idea", such as playing pirates in the backyard, or making potions in the bathroom. The first piece showcases reality, or what we see. And it's companion, the second piece, showcases what children see, or what they are imagining as they play.

In my Capstone, I have covered two concepts or ideas. The first two pieces are centered around the idea of two children in their backyard playing pirates. The second concept is once I'm sure many of us remember doing when we were kids, which is "making potions" in the bathroom! 

For this project, I've utilized a lot of what I've learned in the many pre-production courses I've taken at ATEC, especially those of Visual Story 1 and 2. I hope you enjoy looking at these pieces as much as I enjoyed making them!
